660 North Rush Street
Chicago, Illinois
Antunovich Associates has completed a comprehensive exterior restoration of the Italianate brownstone McCormick Double House, a designated a Chicago Landmark located at 660 North Rush Street. The historic residence of Leander James McCormick and his son Robert Hall McCormick, the building is currently the offices of Boker Investment Management, Inc. and is previously the home of Chez Paul, a Gold Coast dining institution. The exterior restoration, carried out between Fall 2009 and Spring 2010, included removal of existing yellow & green paint from brown sandstone and face brick, consolidating and repairing original brown sandstone, re-pointing mortar joints at the stone and brick facades, and recreating missing components of the ornamental sheet metal cornice. The project also restored an ornamental metal fence and perimeter sandstone low wall, which enclose an entry courtyard.

In September 2011 this restoration project was awarded a 2011 Preservation Excellence award by the City of Chicago.
