Project description: Antunovich Associates designed the new 120,000 square foot Academic Building on the northeast corner of Belden Avenue and Kenmore Street in DePaul University’s Lincoln Park Campus in Chicago, Illinois, pursuing LEED Gold Certification. The new facility houses the English Department and the History of Art & Architecture Department, classrooms, support spaces, and lounge areas.

The new building features a generous courtyard at the corner of Belden Avenue and Kenmore Street and is comparable in height to other adjacent campus and neighborhood buildings. The building has been designed to fit the unique residential character of Lincoln Park. Extensive use of brick is used on the exterior facades of the building to ensure that the building is compatible with its neighbors and fits the rich historic vernacular of Lincoln Park.
