Project description: Together with UrbanStreet Group of Chicago, Antunovich Associates is developing a grand new vision for the former Motorola Site in Schaumburg. With the Village of Schaumburg Planning Department, a new zoning ordinance was created for this massive parcel that calls for one of the most ambitious developments in the Chicagoland area, if not the nation. Veridian will be a regional destination comprised of 350,000 square feet of new retail including shops, restaurants, a grocer, a theater, other entertainment venues, a 220 key upscale hotel, over 400 residential apartments above retail and many amenities are planned for the first phase. The overall master planned site will also include over 200 townhomes, new office buildings, residential buildings, and a 10-acre public park.

Today the site has been subdivided into multiple parcels, many of which will be sold to individual developers. Antunovich Associates will initially be responsible for planning and designing the main “Town Center” parcel located at the corner of Meacham Road and Algonquin Road. The design will entail a mixed-use development that calls for nearly 800,000 square feet of built area within the retail core, not including the four massive parking structures that will support it. Construction started in 2019 on a new spine road and infrastructure with a phase one completion as soon as the Fall of 2020.
