I-Drive 360

Location:Orlando, Florida
Client: Unicorp National Developments

Project description: I-Drive 360, Orlando, Florida’s newest destination point, enlivens the Orlando landscape in dramatic fashion. The mixed-use/entertainment development is located on an 18.8-acre site between International Drive and Universal Boulevard within the Orlando Convention Center District. The centerpiece of the site is the Orlando Eye, a 400-foot-tall observation wheel that provides spectacular views of Orlando and surrounding Orange County. Fashioned after the world-famous London Eye, the Orlando Eye can accommodate 2,000 passengers per hour. Guests elevate and descend in climate-controlled gondolas, each with seating for fifteen.

Surrounding the Orlando Eye are over 285,000 square feet of restaurant, retail, museum, and entertainment venues. The architectural style and surrounding landscaping elements have been carefully integrated to create a dynamic and vibrant environment. Crafted with meeting points, activity nodes, and pedestrian-friendly pathways, the site creates a community in itself, offering from all points dynamic views to the state-of-the-art observation wheel. A central water feature links together small retail pavilions, restaurants and park space. During the day turtles swim throughout the streams, while at night an impressive light and water show integrates the waterways and the Eye above.

I-Drive 360 has been developed in conjunction with Merlin Entertainments and is the new home to the Orlando Madame Tussauds and Sea Life Center.
