Lincoln Common

Location:Chicago, Illinois
Client: McCaffery Interests, Hines

Project description: For 130 years, the intersection of Fullerton Avenue, Lincoln Avenue, and Halsted Street served Chicago as the site of Children’s Memorial Hospital. When the hospital moved to Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood, Lincoln Common was ready to take root on the six-acre site. This unique one million square foot mixed-use development consists of 68,000 square feet of office space, 540 apartments, a condominium building of 32 units, a 150-room senior living facility and over 100,000 square feet of retail in both new construction and repurposed historic and neighborhood buildings.
As the gateway to the Lincoln Park neighborhood, the development’s vibrant and stylish new restaurants, shopping and upscale residences have transformed this site into the focal point of Chicago’s north side. This transit-oriented project has ready access to the Fullerton CTA station, buses, bike lanes and will provide bike storage & bike/car ride share programs. While we call this project by one name, it is designed to complement the existing character of Lincoln Park. Lincoln Common, as a whole is, an eclectic mix of buildings of varying character, style, and use.
