Project description: Antunovich Associates collaborated with McCaffery Interests to renovate an existing historic building located at 3040 M Street in Georgetown into a first class retail property housing a Barnes & Noble Superstore and an Eddie Bauer retail store.

The existing 3040 M Street building was constructed as a three-story structure in 1929 in Georgetown. The building that was designed by architect David L. Stern is a modified international style, it housed the first Ford Automobile dealership and garage in the Washington, D.C. area. The building is listed as a contributing building within the Georgetown Historic District.

The exterior of the existing building was restored to meet the guidelines set forth by the Commission of Fine Arts and the District of Columbia Historic Preservation Office.
